Thirst for your story… is a creative writing game that begins with a sentence starter from a choice of 14 sentence starters.
From there, each player (1+ players) throw a die and the landing place will instruct what must be included in their new generated sentence. The story grows as you work your way around the board.
Each player can either write the same sentences to support scaffolding or generate their own for independence and a unique story!

This is the first in a series of board games for Year 6.
Thirst forâ„¢ your story… board game builds creative stories covering key elements of skills and knowledge children are working towards and reach within their year group.
There is a choice of 14 story starters for children to build upon as they work their way around the board. All you need are counters and a dice (I know the singular is die! 🙂 )
Thirst for your story is ideal for children who are neurodiverse, especially Dyslexia and ADHD or for those children who are reluctant writers. The board game naturally gives ‘thinking time’ for a child to generate a new sentence to include the instruction on the landed space; to follow on from what has been previously written.
Thirst for your story can also be utilised to assess children and help identify their gaps or achievements in a fun, relaxed and creative way!
