Absences/illness

  • To avoid the spread of illness to students with compromised immune systems, any student with an infectious illness which would require them to be absent from school should not attend tuition in person.
  • If your child is well enough for online tuition, an online session can be arranged for your scheduled session. 24 hours’ notice must be given, via email, to ensure that resources are prepared in advance for your child’s scheduled lesson.

Timekeeping and parental involvement

  • All 1:1 one hour sessions are 55 minutes teaching time, plus up to 5 minutes verbal feedback time. Or 25 minutes teaching time and up to 5 minutes verbal feedback time for a half an hour session. If for any reason your child comes away from their screen, I will remain online for the remaining time of your child’s session.
  • It is the parents/carers responsibility to ensure your child arrives on time or logged into zoom to start their lesson promptly. If you arrive late for your child’s lesson then the remaining time will be utilised for teaching until the end of your child’s booked session.
  • Please arrive 5 minutes before the end of your child’s session for feedback online or for prompt collection, if your child is attending sessions at my home.
  • Late collection of your child will incur charges. These charges will be a flat fee of £20.00 for the first 15 minutes (1-15 minutes) and then for every 15 minutes (1-15 minutes) thereafter. Exceptional circumstances will be taken into consideration but the final decision on late collection charges will be made by Thirst for Knowledge Tuition.
  • I reserve the right to charge for meetings in person or via phone/online requested outside of session times.
  • Sessions may not be recorded (audio or video) without written prior consent from myself.
  • It is the parent’s responsibility to provide details of any allergies, SEND or medical concerns which they deem important while the student is at tuition.
  • I take no personal responsibility for individual exam results but will endeavour to offer my professional advice and opinion regarding likely outcomes.
  • I am always available for questions between sessions via email and aim to respond within 24 hours Monday-Friday.
